What's Your Favorite Thing About HPCMS?

What is your favorite thing about HPCMS? Let’s find out! “My favorite thing about HPCMS is the amazing community of students and staff! Every day students work hard and creatively to tackle the cool projects their teachers design to engage them in scholarship,” says Ms.Goodman, one of the best principals in the world.

“I love PE...P.E is my favorite thing about HPCMS,” says Lilah Rivera, a sixth grader. Most students hate the tests because some say P.E is a educational course related to maintaining the human body through physical exercises.

“My favorite thing about HPCMS are the teachers. For example, Mr. DeBois. He is so kind, and he tells jokes sometimes. He also keeps the mood light in his classroom. Second period is my favorite. Mr. DeBois never fails to crack a smile out of you. If any students are reading this right now, if you have anything you need to deal with or talk about, he is very trustworthy and you can talk to him about anything. Therefore, the teachers are what make HPCMS special for me,” says Kaydence Mazzilli, a sixth grader.

“I like having access during lunch to go to the library or the terrace. I also like how we get to choose what we like to do, in class,” says Jaylene Rodriguez, a seventh grader.

“HPCMS is pretty good but. My favorite thing is CD and music because we do fun things in our class,” says Nadia Hidalgo, a seventh grader.







“I like how this school has a variety of things or activities to do, like theater, music, debates, etc. I don’t like how they give us detention for no reason. My most favorite thing is volleyball, music, and Ms. Kayanna,” says Vanissa.T, an eighth grader.

The Harry Potter Book Series 1-7 By Katy Simpson One day in 1990, a woman named  Joanne Rowling  had a thought pop into her head while on a delayed train, a boy with round glasses and a lightning scar. The Downside of School Dress Codes for Female Students

By Briana Naranjo  Every school has a dress code students must follow. But some of those dress codes are out of line when it comes to what girls wear. For girls, there are a lot of school dress codes that dictate how much thigh and how much shoulder they are allowed to show. Many schools have these dress codes so the students dress “modestly,”  which is understandable to a certain extent. However, many school dress codes focus only on what the girls wear and never focus on what boys wear. This has started major outrage from students, as this is an unfair system and should be changed.    Shirts that show collarbones and shoulders are said to be too “distracting” for the boys and are not “appropriate” for the learning environment. These strict dress codes lead to many counts of girls being sent home due to the fact their clothes were too “revealing” or not “appropriate”. Disney Channel Character from “Andi Mack” comes out as gay, and other LGBT characters.

By Dash Fisher Hunters Point Community Middle School - It’s your neighbourly and friendly friend here, Dash! In the show Andi Mack, a character comes out as gay to his friend. Here are my thoughts and feelings about it. Andi Mack is a Disney Channel show about tweens going through middle school. Starring Peyton Elizabeth Lee as Andi Mack, Andi Mack is turning 13 when her older sister Bex returns home. Andi goes through her teenage life, with the help of her family and her friends Cyrus and Buffy, on top of coping with the discovery that Bex is actually her mother and that her mother Celia “Cece” is actually her grandmother, and managing her crush on classmate Jonah Beck. While another one of Andi’s friends, Cyrus, also has a crush on Jonah. So, in the show Cyrus comes out as gay. Gay is the G in LGBTQ+. LGBTQ+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and the plus stands for other sexualities/genders including but not limited to Pensexual, Asexual, and Intersex.
