Ronaldo Changes Juventus

By Starlyn Reyes
Hi, I’m a 7th grader and this is my first article. So, most of us know one of the best futbol (soccer) players is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro.

He plays for a great team called Real Madrid FC (a Spanish Football Team), but in August, he left Real Madrid to go to Juventus FC (an Italian Football Team). According to New York Times, this happened because the Brazilian football player Neymar wants to win the Ballon de Oro (a trophy) and the club’s president, Florentino Perez, says if Neymar wanted to win the Ballon de Oro he would have to move to Real Madrid and Ronaldo did not like that. Moreover, the club’s president and Ronaldo have problems. So, Juventus offered to take Ronaldo and they agreed to a transfer of 112 million euros.

Fans have lots of feelings about this transfer. Ronaldo has been playing for Real Madrid for almost 10 years! But this isn’t the first time he is changing teams. The first time he changed his team was from Sporting De Lisboa (a Portuguese Football Club) to Manchester United (an English Football Club).
He has been playing really great with his new team, but things have really changed with his old team, Real Madrid. They are losing and tieing some games. Could Real Madrid play worse since Ronaldo left? Well, we don't know yet.

Currently, Real Madrid in the 6th place and have only 20 points in the Spanish League (La Liga Santander), which is weird because they are always in the second or third place in the rankings! Meanwhile, Juventus has 34 points and is in 1st place in the Italian league (Serie A). Currently, Ronaldo has made five goals in the Italian league and zero in the Champions League. He had his first red card with his team in the Champions League in August.

So if you are a Ronaldo fan, what do you think? Has the transfer to Juventus been a good one?
